Green Enterprises and Support of Startups in the Tourism and Agri-processing Sectors in Albania
This past week was #GlobalEntrepreneurshipWeek, and on Wednesday, November 15th, I was honored to invited by Partners Albania for Change and Development to be on a panel called โ๐๐ซ๐๐๐ง ๐๐ง๐ญ๐๐ซ๐ฉ๐ซ๐ข๐ฌ๐๐ฌ ๐๐ง๐ ๐๐ฎ๐ฉ๐ฉ๐จ๐ซ๐ญ ๐จ๐ ๐๐ญ๐๐ซ๐ญ๐ฎ๐ฉ๐ฌ ๐ข๐ง ๐ญ๐ก๐ ๐๐จ๐ฎ๐ซ๐ข๐ฌ๐ฆ ๐๐ง๐ ๐๐ ๐ซ๐ข-๐ฉ๐ซ๐จ๐๐๐ฌ๐ฌ๐ข๐ง๐ ๐๐๐๐ญ๐จ๐ซ๐ฌ ๐ข๐ง ๐๐ฅ๐๐๐ง๐ข๐โ, to speak about Travelife Certification for tour operators, for which I am a coach and auditor.ย The panel took place at Destil Creative Hub in Tirana, “to further promote and support green enterprises and start-ups, and establish multilateral partnerships.”
We discussed sustainable tourism certifications and market potential, addressing the importance of meeting international standards, and the benefits and challenges of certifications schemes in the tourism and agricultural sectors.ย Panelists presented financial opportunities to help entrepreneurs address the challenges, and demonstrated the impact on customer perceptions and market access.

–ย Gramos Osmaniย fromย RisiAlbaniaย (Helve
conditions of the agri-business and tourism sectors in Albania.
–ย Edita Bilali, Certified Coach ofย GLOBAL G.A.P.ย in Albania and Kosovo, who discussed he importance of meeting the
international quality standards, as well as certifications.
–Fatmir Nikolli, fromย NOA Financojmeย ย shared their opportunities for the financial and technical support of the enterprises, to help ease their access in market marketplace.
In attendance wereย representatives from tourism and agricultural startups and enterprises.ย The panel was presented in Albanian (Shqip), so I brought along my friend, colleague, and up-and-coming sustainable tourism superstar, Suela Tahiraj, to translate.ย She is also an experienced sustainability coordinator, and a Travelife intern and coach, and had a few insights of her own to provide.
